Partly because no one reads this, partly because I’ve been addicted to Facebook…

But just to keep no one updated here is how things have been going.

I have a job that pays good and has great benefits, and also happens to suck so much monkey nuts that I have had to go on multiple medications, see a counselor, lose weight, and cry before work half the time. Yep, IT FUCKING SUCKS ASS!! The job itself wouldn’t be so bad if the company didn’t put so much pressure on the employees as far as metrics and “numbers” go. Customer service means you take care of the customer and do what’s best for them while also looking out for the company right? Well, not so much here. Nothing you do is ever good enough here and even when you get told about something you do right there seems to always be a “but…” that follows so shoot your self esteem right back down to the ground before it evens makes it completely off. I now have one more day left in my work week and it’s currently not even 4pm yet but I have brought an entire bottle of wine and a plastic cup up to my cave and currently my hands are tingling from alcohol. I probably should have eaten something first. I also probably should not really be drinking according to my Rx bottle but I don’t know what else to do at this point. I have never been so unhappy at a job ever, and didn’t know it was even possible to feel this bad about your job. Thanks for that, jackasses! Time to pour some more wine…

Generally, stating the obvious is a very annoying habit of far too many people, however when it comes to commonsense and social networking it seems like the imperative to be sensible is well worth repeating.

The latest example of what not to do online comes from a Reuters report advising us all not to give away too much on FaceBook or Twitter in case prospective employers find out about it.

Dead dogs

It cites a PR specialist, pointing out FaceBook posts about, “colonoscopies, dead teeth pulled, dead dogs, flatulence, adult acne, marital breakups, battles with mental illnesses and drinking problems.”

Going on to put that avalanche of banality in the context of someone looking for a new job, it concludes: “If this information can make friends cringe… imagine the impression it would make on a potential employer.”

Drugs as well

Throw in examples of people posting photos of themselves smoking drugs and making racist and/or sexist jokes and you have a pretty bleak picture of an online confederacy of dunces who’d likely never get up most days, never mind find a job.

Our advice, for what it’s worth – next time you’re considering putting anything at all personal online, just don’t; it’s tedious for us to read and might just stop you from snaring that big fat contract.

I love the “I have blind copied several people on this since may apply to many of us.” part. I’m sorry but if you have something to say to me just come out and say it instead of “blind copying” stupidly obvious “news” articles in an e-mail. Last time I checked we were all adults here, even though we are not always treated as so. And another thing, if you are stupid enough to post on the internet about your drug use you don’t deserve to have a job anyway. Compared to most people I don’t have anything to hide or anything that would freak out any future employers. The only strike against me I have going right now is anxiety from my current job which I’m told most people can’t last a month at, let alone almost six. I am not one of those people that conceals parts about myself to please others, take me as I am or GTFO. I would love to see the look on this family member’s face if they read some of the things on this blog, heh. My family doesn’t seem to even care about my regular web page so I think it’s safe to say they’d never visit this lovely space I have created, probably for the best anyway since a number of them don’t seem to take reality very well. It’s a shame people are so uncomfortable with people being themselves. End rant.

But today is the first day in a while I’ve been so frustrated, angry and upset I wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry, so naturally, I did both. I desperetely need Valium! It wasn’t just one thing that happened and then I freaked out a little and got over it. No, it was the entire damn day that sucked monkey nuts. Even when I was laughing with my friends I still felt the urge to completely flip out and start throwing things, like a small child throwing a tantrum. I’m not even sure why. Ok, so I had a nightmare that was work related. Well, that happens more often than not, so nothing new there. Yes, I felt horribly tired when I woke up and just wanted to never get out of bed. Again, really not a new occurance. I hate feeling like this, but what I hate even more is not knowing why I am feeling this way. Nothing new that hasn’t been happening everyday for a while is going on, so, WHAT  THE  FUCK?!?! I’ll tell you what, as soon as that health insurance kicks in (assuming I haven’t been fired yet) I’m finding a damn doctor that will give me some Valium for days like this. I can’t stand feeling like there is molten lava spewing out of my eyes and mouth and anyone that crosses my path is going to get burned. I’m talking third degree here ok, serious business.

Apparently since Oregon (and everywhere else in the world) is having some monetary issues they decided to let some prisoners out. Alright, nothing new there, but here’s the best part! They are paying for their housing when they release them! So much for saving money! Why is it always the people high up that get paid too much that have no common sense? If this world was run by poor blue collar workers we’d probably be much better off.

I felt the need to build a house, or do some landscaping, or something house related. Well since I don’t have a house to do any of those things with, or the funds to create one, naturally I went to dig up the ol’ Sims 2 discs to install the game and expansions and have at it. But could anything be that easy, of course not! I don’t know if it’s Vista’s fault, or EA’s, I’d have to say at this point a little of both. I managed to get the Sims 2 installed, but can’t install any of the expansions. Ok, fine, so I’ll just have less design options for a house, no big deal. So I go to open just the plain ol’ Sims 2 program. Won’t fucking run! I get a window saying there is known issues with this version (Vista 64 bit) of windows. So I do the google thing and after a bit of reading I hear patching the game will solve all the problems of the world the problem. So I download the patch for Sims 2 DVD edition, even though half the errors I got on trying to install the expansions were because the game wouldn’t patch. I try to run the patch, that won’t work either. I do more reading, other people running Vista are happily playing their Sims 2 game while patiently waiting for EA to stop being losers and release the Sims 3 already, haven’t we been waiting long enough!?!? I’ve come to the conclusion that perhaps it’s just Vista 64 bit that is having issues with the Sims 2. I’d love to ask some of those people who are happily playing their game which version of Vista they are running, but judging by some of the things they are saying they are probably too stupid to even know. So here I am, not tired, dying to build a house, and all I have are LEGOs, too bad they are outside in the garage and it’s too late/cold/wet to go outside and get them:/ I plan on digging deeper into this issue tomorrow when I’ve had more time to read and experiment with things. It is possible that half my problems are caused by EA’s ridiculously stupid, out of control copy protection bullshit they are using on all their games. You know, the ones that force people to illegally download disk images of games and use no-cd cracks and all that jazz to actually be able to install and run the fucking things. Bastards. I bought these games, have all the packaging, and the serial numbers, go die in a fire for not letting me pop my disk in and get the game running. Seriously. DIAF! I very badly want to pre-order the Sims 3 collector’s edition, but if I can’t install and run the game without a huge hassle, you can take that 2 GB THE SIMS PLUMBOB™ USB DRIVE and shove it up your ass.

Every background check I’ve had before has been easy, you sign the release form, and that’s it, they do their check, everyone is happy. But not this company! The place I am going to be working (hopefully!?!?) goes through an outside company for their background checks, and I’m getting the feeling this company is a bit on the lazy side. So far I’ve had to scan and send them old w-2s, pay stubs, G.E.D., and also another copy of the signed release (which I already filled out at the time I was told I was hired). Luckily so far I’ve had all the information they needed, just had to dig around for some of it. This is day two of information requests, I’m wondering what they will want next. All I have left is my birth certificate, marriage certificate, and my social security card, hopefully they won’t ask for anything else! I thought about sending them all now, before they ask for anything else, but I’m sure they’d get confused and just ask for it all again:/ Hopefully they will get their shit together soon so we can move this process along, I’ve never experienced a hassle like this before with a simple background check.
