Not that it matters because no one (besides spamming bots) really reads this but I have disabled comments for the time being because I am tired of getting 10 e-mails a day with links to Viagra adds and other BS of the like.

P.S. I freaking hate the hell out of my job and would rather clean toilets with no gloves. And for me, that’s saying a lot.

So I was watching some home shows on Hulu today. I felt the need to build a house, or do some landscaping, or something house related. Well since I don’t have a house to do any of those things with, or the funds to create one, naturally I went to dig up the ol’ Sims 2 discs to install the game and expansions and have at it. But could anything be that easy, of course not! I don’t know if it’s Vista’s fault, or EA’s, I’d have to say at this point a little of both. I managed to get the Sims 2 installed, but can’t install any of the expansions. Ok, fine, so I’ll just have less design options for a house, no big deal. So I go to open just the plain ol’ Sims 2 program. Won’t fucking run! I get a window saying there is known issues with this version (Vista 64 bit) of windows. So I do the google thing and after a bit of reading I hear patching the game will solve all the problems of the world the problem. So I download the patch for Sims 2 DVD edition, even though half the errors I got on trying to install the expansions were because the game wouldn’t patch. I try to run the patch, that won’t work either. I do more reading, other people running Vista are happily playing their Sims 2 game while patiently waiting for EA to stop being losers and release the Sims 3 already, haven’t we been waiting long enough!?!? I’ve come to the conclusion that perhaps it’s just Vista 64 bit that is having issues with the Sims 2. I’d love to ask some of those people who are happily playing their game which version of Vista they are running, but judging by some of the things they are saying they are probably too stupid to even know. So here I am, not tired, dying to build a house, and all I have are LEGOs, too bad they are outside in the garage and it’s too late/cold/wet to go outside and get them:/ I plan on digging deeper into this issue tomorrow when I’ve had more time to read and experiment with things. It is possible that half my problems are caused by EA’s ridiculously stupid, out of control copy protection bullshit they are using on all their games. You know, the ones that force people to illegally download disk images of games and use no-cd cracks and all that jazz to actually be able to install and run the fucking things. Bastards. I bought these games, have all the packaging, and the serial numbers, go die in a fire for not letting me pop my disk in and get the game running. Seriously. DIAF! I very badly want to pre-order the Sims 3 collector’s edition, but if I can’t install and run the game without a huge hassle, you can take that 2 GB THE SIMS PLUMBOB™ USB DRIVE and shove it up your ass.

Ok, so I’m one of those people that really despises those forwarded “informative” and “chain letter” type e-mails. You know the ones I’m talking about, “Click here to read about this new virus that’s spreading like wild fire!” Are you fucking stupid?!?! Or the “Forward this to 10 people to support your troops.” Come on! For one, why in the hell do you think it would be a good idea to follow an unknown link to “read” about a horrible virus, if people really wanted to warn you about something horrible why wouldn’t they just put the details in the e-mail in the first place in plain text so you wouldn’t have to venture out into the scary WWW and risk getting a virus there? Here’s a thought, install a good fucking AV program (not a P.O.S. one you pay $50 fucking dollars for at your neighborhood office supply store) and don’t click “Yes” or “Install Now” on every fucking pop-up that happens to make it in front of your face. When some random ass pop-up tells you your computer has been infected with a virus and if you don’t “Click Now” the world as you know it is going to end and there are dancing chickens around the window, IT’S PROBABLY NOT A GOOD IDEA TO CLICK IT, don’t rely on the word of a dancing chicken! And as far as the troops go, guilt tripping people into sending forwarded e-mails of any kind = teh suck! I support our troops, I feel bad for everything they have to deal with everyday, it fucking sucks, and things like that shouldn’t happen, but they do, this is how the world works thanks to human nature. If people need to be sent an e-mail to make sure they know the sacrifices that are made everyday by other people for certain things, maybe they need to GROW A BRAIN. I don’t get out much, or watch the news, but you’d have to be an absolute moron to not know all the horrible things that are happening all over the world. I know what’s happening and I choose to hide in my cave and hope that horrible things like those that are going on everywhere in the world don’t happen to me or the people and animals I love. I don’t have the nerves to go charging off to other countries (or right outside my own door for that matter) and try to stop all the horrible things that happen, I am way too fucking nervous and jumpy, I’d probably have a heart attack 5 minutes in, or eat my own hand, who really knows. When more shit happens to fly my way, you can be damn sure I’ll take care of it, but I’m not about to go chasing it around. I am very thankful there are people out there more stone-like that can handle that shit and try to make the world a safer place. Anyway…. I do not respond well to guilt trips or threats and you know what, I totally fucking deleted those e-mails and I don’t feel a bit bad for it. If you get an e-mail with a message in it you feel is powerful or important, fine, take the part out that you feel is good and send it, but please leave the “guilt tripping, chain letter, send this to 10 people or the world will implode” shit out if you want me to even look at it. Yes it may take an extra couple of minutes, but if you really want people like me to read it, take the time, or I will hit that delete button so fast it’ll make your head spin. Now that I’ve totally gone off on the subject, let me enlighten you as to why. I got this e-mail today and knew it had to be posted up on my blog, it was just too awesome not to be. And so I bring you “Are you fucking seriously forwarding this, and without even an apology for all the other forwarded crap you’ve sent?”

For Serious?

If you are one of the people that sends me these e-mails, don’t worry, I’m not mad at you, I still love you. If getting these kinds of e-mails from others makes you feel happy, warm, and cuddly inside, that’s great, you just keep on forwarding them to everyone in your address book. But if you get them, and feel a twinge of “great, thanks for sending this to me, now I have to trouble everyone I know with it or the world is going to come crashing down on me” I urge you, DON’T BE A SLAVE TO THE FORWARD BUTTON, dare to be different, hit DELETE instead, I know it’s scary, but it will feel good not being a sheep. Baaaaaa.
